Anthony Wilson is a poet, writing tutor and Senior Lecturer at the Graduate School of Education, University of Exeter.
His books of poetry are Riddance (Worple Press, 2012), Full Stretch: Poems 1996-2006 (Worple Press, 2006), Nowhere Better Than This (Worple Press, 2002) and How Far From Here is Home? (Stride, 1996). His memoir of cancer Love for Now (Impress Books) was published in 2012.
Anthony has held writing residencies at The Poetry Society, The Times Educational Supplement, Apples and Snakes, Tate Britain, and The Poetry Trust, for whom he will be the 2014 Aldeburgh Poetry Festival Blogger. He is a writing tutor for The Arvon Foundation and The Poetry School.
Anthony researches in the field of creative writing in schools. He was co-convener of the ESRC Seminar Series Poetry Matters (2011-12), and evaluated Bath Festivals’ The Write Team project on the impact of creative writers in schools.
His books include Poetry Matters (Bloomsbury, 2013), Creativity in Primary Education (2009) and The Poetry Book for Primary Schools (1998). Making Poetry Happen is forthcoming from Bloomsbury in 2015. Creativity in Primary Education, Third Edition is forthcoming from Sage in 2015.
