FeralChildren.com says Homeless Jack Crabbe meets Vicky in a Liverpool squat. Why can't she talk properly and how does she have an uncanny knowledge of his dark secrets? When Vicky disappears, Jack's search for her uncovers the horrors of her early life as a confined child. Although he sets out to help her, he soon finds she has much to teach him, setting him on his own journey to self discovery and healing. Consider The Lilies is the winner of the 2007 Impress Novel Prize for New Writers.
Amazon customer review © Gives lots of insight into homelessness, mental health and feral life. A positive and interesting read. Well written with innovative use of language from a writer who obviously knows her subject.
Amazon customer review © This is a story that will really stay in your mind. It's bold and challenging, experimenting with language and layout but at the same time it's an intensely gripping read. Carol Fenlon really cares about Vicky, the half-wild child raised in a shed, and her protector Jack, who can never come to terms with his own past.
