2008 Prize for Non-fiction
The aim of the prize is to find talented new writers of both fiction and non-fiction, who have yet to win a mainstream publishing contract. The 2007 prize was awarded for fiction writing. Read more about the winning entry. It is followed by the 2008 prize for non-fiction. These categories alternate yearly thereafter.
Rules of Entry
Fiction: entrants must be registered on a recognised creative writing course at a UK university during the year of entry.
Non-fiction: entrants must either be registered on a recognised creative writing course at a UK university during the year of entry, or hold a teaching or postgraduate position in a UK university but not have published a book-type publication before.

and should arrive no later than 1 September 2008.
Entries should comprise:
A proposal to include the following information:

Proof of eligibility as mentioned in (1) above

Printed in 12pt typeface, double spaced, single sided A4 sheets

Maximum 6,000 words long
Entrants that would like their work returned must enclose a suitably large SAE.
